A new study has been released, and it tells you just how much you need to make to be happy… for the most part.

According to a new report that was published in Nature Human Behavior, an individual needs to make about $65,000 to $95,000 a year to achieve “optimal life satisfaction”.  Now, it should be noted that they are talking about individuals and not households.  This result was made conclusive from a survey that was done through about 2 million people in 164 countries.

But that’s not all researchers found out.  It’s actually possible to make too much money.  They say that people who make more than $95,000 a year (individually, not as a household) actually are unhappier than their counterparts that make $65,000 – $95,000 annually.  They say that, when you make more money, you can tend to experience unhappiness that can stem from purchasing material items that actually aren’t all that satisfying.  This can then lead to emotional and social unhappiness.

So, if you’re looking for a new job or some inspiration in a new career, maybe look at jobs that pay in the ideal happiness range.  After all, happiness is everything, isn’t it?
